The team at Melbourne Psychology & Counselling (MPC) is committed to continuing to provide psychological treatment to our clients and local community during this very difficult time. With recent increases in COVID-19 transmissions in our local area there are new measures required from us and our clients to reduce the spread of the virus.
1. Wearing of masks or face coverings in shared spaces at MPC.
From 11.59pm on Wednesday July 22nd it will be mandatory for patients and staff of MPC to wear a mask or alternative face covering when leaving home (DHHS Information Source). This means that a mask/face covering will need to be worn by all clinicians and clients using the public spaces at MPC. Public spaces include the entry hall, bathroom, waiting area and kitchen.
2. Wearing of masks or face coverings during face to face psychology sessions.
There are exemptions to wearing masks for professional reasons. We are seeking advice to understand if this applies to psychology sessions within our rooms. Please check in with your psychologist for updates and to determine if face coverings/masks will be required for your face to face sessions.
Clients are asked to not attend the clinic in person if they, or anyone in their household, have any symptoms of illness, including:
